Optifine

Optifine is very interresting minecraft mod that can improve performance of your game significantly. It will increase your FPS and reduce lag. Some say that you get even 30% FPS boost - that is sometimes enough to start using texture pack you ever dreamed about but were too afreaid of lag to do so.
Installation is quite standard, you just install minecraft Forge and than copy optifine to your mods directory.
